About

About Mental Model Atlas

Mental Model Atlas is an open project dedicated to constructing a “Map of Thought” within the Japanese-speaking sphere.

In our complex modern society, we aim to provide an “Intellectual OS” to facilitate better decision-making and essential problem-solving.

Project Objectives

Rather than a mere accumulation of information, we are building a “Thinking Toolbox” centered on the following three pillars:

  1. Systematization: Organizing scattered insights into a unified format.
  2. Structuring: Clarifying relationships based on abstraction levels and thinking types.
  3. Practicality: Presenting “Recipes”—combinations of models suited to specific situations.

📊 Definition of Evaluation Scores (1–5)

On this site, each mental model is uniquely scored across four dimensions. This serves as a guide (contour line) to help you determine “which thinking tool to pick up right now.”

Note: These scores are “provisional values” based on the editorial team’s subjective assessment. Since they vary depending on the user’s context, please use them as a general reference.
